Obituary for Larry Dennis Zoss

Larry Dennis Zoss, 75, of Elk Point, South Dakota, passed away on Sunday, December 2, 2018 at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, IA after a heart attack.

Larry was born October 24, 1943 in Corsica, SD, the son of Benjamin and Augusta (Vosberg) Zoss. He was one of twelve siblings growing up on the farm southwest of Armour, SD. He was married to Penny (Zoss) Olson and was blessed with three children.

He served in the U.S. Army for several years and when he returned back home, he worked for Gill Construction Company for 49 years.

Music was one of Larry’s favorite hobbies. He loved playing piano and his guitar. He enjoyed reading newspapers, and tinkering with his house. His favorite holiday was the 4th of July, and driving to his favorite places.

He loved his job and his admiration for the Black Hills. He was a simple and serious man but enjoyed a goofy side too. He found joys in his routines.

Larry is survived by his three children, Sara (Les) Rowland of Arlington, SD, Daniel (Pavlina) Zoss of Czech Republic, and Jeremy (Rachel) Zoss of South Carolina; nine grandchildren; two brothers, Bennis (Donna) Zoss of Sioux Falls, SD and Jimmy (Jenene) Zoss of West Pueblo, CO.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Augusta Zoss; his eight brothers, and two sisters.
