Obituaries

Verdell Larson, 78, of Palmdale, CA, formerly of Vermillion, SD, passed away, Sunday, February 28, 2010 at his residence. 

Verdell was born February 19, 1932 in Beresford, South Dakota to Aldric John and Alma (Berg) Larson.

He married Carol Elizabeth Ellison on February 9, 1953. Verdell and Carol moved themselves and their family to California in 1965, where they still lived. Verdell was a meat cutter until 1992. After the retirement, Verdell and Carol decided to become full time travelers. The two of them traveled from coast to coast together for the next five years. After traveling, Verdell and Carol settled down in Palmdale, California. Verdell loved walking the neighborhood with his dog, Dakota. Verdell and Carol loved to play cards with the family. They also enjoyed gardening and working around the house. Verdell was a life-time member of the V.F.W.

Survivors include his wife, Carol of Palmdale, CA; his sons, Lonny of Paradise, CA, Wayne of Auburn, CA, and John of Huntington Beach, CA; his daughters, Susan Craddock of Acton, CA, and Sandra Smith of Palmdale, CA; eight grandchildren, Christina Emily Craddock, Bert Charles Craddock, Wayne Edward Larson, Jr., Sarah Elizabeth Larson, Jacob Verdell Larson, Nathan Alan Smith, Tyler Lee Larson, and Samantha Kay Smith; his two brothers, Alton and Delesmore Larson.
